The aromas of the ‘Best of British’ menus filled the Blue Fin Building as Blue Fin Venue hosted the final of Mediachef 2015.
Over 100 guests crammed into the 11th floor Winter Garden to support ad agencies Maxus, Goodstuff and Astus as they cooked up a culinary storm in their efforts to take this year’s title.
‘Best of British’ was the theme of the day and this year’s judges – Pied a Terre’s David Moore, Rob Dann from Bob’s Lobster, Dave Crompton from The House of Gastrophonic, The Engine Company’s Robin Wight, Time Inc. UK’s group food director Jane Curran and esteemed chef Mark Hix – struggled to pick a winner, such was the high standard of cooking.
While they wrestled with their decision, guests were entertained by a quick-fire trifle making competition in which the contestants covered themselves more in cream than glory. In the serious competition, the judges made their decision and it was congratulations to Megan Lathwood and Harry Moss of Goodstuff, whose ‘Picnic by the Pier’ was judged to be the very best on the night.
Lisa Batty, marketing director, Advertising Time Inc – who coordinated the event – said: “This is the second year of Mediachef and the competition to take part, the quality of chefs among our agencies and the transformation of the 11th floor of Blue Fin Venue into a fantastic venue was truly overwhelming.”
